On November 25, 2020, the International Seminar on 6G Wireless Intelligent Network was held in the College of Communication Engineering (CCE). The seminar was conducted both online and offline, and successfully invited Professor Sherman Shen, foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, academician of the Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada, academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, academician of the Engineering Institute of Canada, Professor Weihua Zhuang, academician of the Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada, academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, academician of the Engineering Institute of Canada, to deliver the report. The seminar was hosted by Professor Hu Fengye and attended by nearly 100 teachers and students of the CCE.

During the seminar, Dean Sun Xiaoying adressed a speech to extend gratitude to the three experts and academic colleagues for their support to the development of the College and to express expectations for future visits of experts and further cooperation and exchanges. Professor Xuemin Shen gave an academic report titled “Next Generation Wireless Networks: Holistic Network Virtualization and Edge Intelligence”. He put forward requirements for 6G wireless intelligent networks in three aspects of digital twin network and edge computing, next generation expand network architecture design, and AI-driven network management, and summarized that the next generation network should be equipped with more intelligent and flexible strategies for resource allocation, expansible network architecture and automatic network management functions.

Professor Weihua Zhuang gave an academic report titled “Channel Access Management for Cellular IoT Applications”. He mainly focused on the cut-in channel management of the Internet of Things, and introduced random cut-in and restriction of channels, 2-hop non-orthogonal transmission mechanism and optimization of related data in all aspects. At the same time, he used simulation technology to show that the proposed channel cut-in solution can reduce the cost.

In the end, the three academicians respectively conducted active academic discussions with teachers and students and answered the questions in detail raised by teachers and students. This seminar enhanced the knowledge and understanding of our teachers and student on the advanced 6G wireless intelligent network, and made them benefit a lot.
